Snow On The Way This Weekend!

2009_12_snow.jpg Get the hot chocolate ready—and this should make Saturday's naked bike lane protest interesting: NYC is expected to get 3-6 inches snow, according to AccuWeather—and WCBS 2's Megan Giaros says, "All five boroughs, back to parts of northern New Jersey and the Lower Hudson Valley, could get as much as 5-10 inches."

Why? Giaros explains, "At the Gulf Coast, we can see a big mass of rain. As this low pressure emerges out over the Carolina coastline and rides up the eastern seaboard as a nor'easter, it's cold enough here that that moisture will become snow." However, 1010 WINS reports, "the exact track of the winter storm system is still uncertain. A difference of only 100 miles will have a significant impact on the weather across the region. A glancing blow with less snow and lighter winds remains a possibility for the region."

The snow is expected to start tomorrow morning, tapering off by Sunday morning. Long Island is under a Blizzard Watch till Sunday morning.

Psyched! If there's too much snow the DOT should just plow it in to the Holland Tunnel!

Why does the different in amount line *always* seem to cross right through the city.

I think because of our proximity to the water and the shelter the inner harbor provides. The same reason the Dutch paid such a princely sum to get their foot in the door.

I hate a tease, so hopefully it will be a Winter Wonderland out there this weekend and not just a little drizzle.

Oh great. I'm flying out of JFK tomorrow. This should be interesting.

Sweet. At least we get a little snow out of our frosty cold torture week.
