This Improv Everywhere stunt sort of warms our heart. They sent a 13-member handbell choir to surprise a Salvation Army bell ringer with some accompaniment. They formed a line on either side of him at his Lexington Avenue and 59th Street spot and played “Joy to the World." Watch below:
The Guerrilla Handbell Strikeforce was comprised of members from the Christ Church United Methodist bell choir in Manhattan. When asked about the experience later, he told the Improv Everywhere agents: "the whole thing was really nice."

The SA is now paying for expensive commercials on TV this year to give more money, but I cannot ever recall seeing a social service offered by the SA in NYC, or anywhere?
Actually, i was there and donations increased during/after their performance. i happened to chat with the salvation army ringer right after the performance and he was happy about the increased donations.

Nice, but all that and only 2 folks gave the whole time?
I'd like to see the video of all the people watching and taking pictures filing away without giving any money.
