NJ Teen Held For "Columbine" Threat At High School

2009_12_bwrhs.jpg Yesterday, classes at Bridgewater Raritan High School were cancelled due to a bomb threat—and a 16-year-old junior had been charged with "attempted murder, possession of explosives, possession of a destructive device and attempted widespread damage or injury." The Star-Ledger reports, "The teen was arrested after another student told a school police resource officer the suspect had told him of his plan 'to commit a Columbine at the high school on December 14.'" While no explosives were found at the school, "when police searched the teen’s home, they discovered homemade explosive devices, shotgun shells, bullets, black powder, as well as items that could act as explosive device components and bomb-making instructions."

I don't blame the kid, this country is going downhill, the stuff they are brainwashing these kids with at schools today is messed up.

You don't blame the kid? So just because the country is going downhill and they're brainwashing the kids, which isn't true, he should blow up everyone at the school? Yeah, that makes perfect sense.

The real problem is that no one probably listened to the kid when he tried to tell people what was wrong or they listened but didn't care. There are two sides to a story you know, it's sad that only one side of this story will ever get reported. When something bad happens it's news when something good happens no one cares.

Eh, no excuse for this like this.

    Want people to listen?

No one will ever care about- let alone listen to- this loser now.

    Mission fail.

The real problem is that he had to spend the day roaming the halls with the cast of Jersey Shore. It's enough to make anyone want to split the atom.

  • hey333

That's not the real problem, but good try.

Bridgewater is definitely in South Jersey, I think we found the root of the problem now!

  • hey333

And no, Bridgewater is in Central Jersey, not South Jersey.

  • robingee

Yeah you're right. The only solution to life's problems is to BLOW EVERYONE UP!

I'm glad students are taking these things seriously and reporting them, and the administrators are taking it seriously too. It happens way too often to be taken lightly.

    What might that be?

  • NannyState

It would have failed anyway: at Columbine, the shooters were able to find their victims studying in the library.

When asked by a local reporter about her son, Mom replied, "I really don't know how this could have happened. He is an A student and a good boy, in fact we study the bible together every night before he goes out clubbing with his buddies who all have facial pimples just like him."
