Cartoons Seek Peace in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

A group of Palestinian and Israeli families who have lost loved ones in the inexorable conflict have united to present a traveling exhibit of editorial cartoons that address the situation. The show, called "Cartoons in Conflicts," opened in Chelsea last night, and organizers say the cartoons are "meant to promote peace, tolerance and understanding... portraying complicated and challenging ideas with just a few penstrokes." Some of the 40 artists involved include Nobel laureate Pat Oliphant, Pulitzer Prize winner Jim Morin, syndicated political cartoonist Jeff Danziger, and The New Yorker's Liza Donnelly, as well as international artists No Rio of Japan, Plantu of France, El-Roto of Spain.

"Cartoons get at the essence of an idea and help people really feel an issue," Donelly tells the Daily News. And Mazen Faraj, a member of the Parents Circle Families Forum (PCFF), one of the groups behind the exhibit, says, "It's easy to forget the human side in this. The cartoons help show the real face of the conflict. They help people realize that we are all in this together. We are doing everything we can to spread our message of reconciliation. The cartoons keep us connected to our history and help us learn from these experiences."

Yeah, occupation causes all of the problems... sure. And, I have a 121 year-old bridge to sell you. What were the causes of Palestinian terrorism prior 1967? When Jordan occupied Jewish Jerusalem for 19 years and destroyed synagogues, homes, & cemeteries? What about Arab terrorism in the 1950's? What about the Hebron massacre in 1929 (1st ethnic cleansing of Jews in the 20th century) ? What about the riots in 1921? What about jizya and dhimmitude?

You wouldn't know, because you're just a parrot on the left, unaware of the history behind the political ideology of Islam (it's less religion, than politics you know). You're completely unaware of why they fight Israel and the Jews. You're probably completely unaware of Mohammed's history of slaughtering the Jewish tribes of Saudi Arabia as well.

BTW, Pat Oliphant is probably the worst choice to "seek peace" in this Israeli-ARAB conflict:

The ADL's director called the syndicated cartoon, published Wednesday and reprinted below, "hideously anti-Semitic."

It's also somewhat insensitive that this would open on a Friday night, the 1st night of Hanukah. I'm all for peace, but not when it's promoted with lies and one-sided bigotry.

    Stop picking on Israel.

So sick of this bullshit belief that cartoons can bring Israel/Palestine closer together. End the fucking illegal Israeli occupation on Palestinian land! Until then we can expect more despair, destruction, death, racism, illegal settlements, and apartheid.
