Drummer Found Dead in Brooklyn Apartment

This morning the body of 29-year-old drummer Troy Young (of the band Curious Mishap) was found dead, with a bullet wound in his head, inside of his Carroll Gardens apartment. NY1 reports that police are currently investigating the shooting death. They only discovered the body this morning, after receiving a missing persons report.

Young was found in his 4th Street basement apartment just after midnight, where his front door was open. A neighbor told the network, "I see him every day. He says hello, he's always happy, smiling, see him at deli, he has coffee, egg sandwiches. He always asks me, ‘how you doing on the project?’" Another neighbor told the Post, "I saw him on Tuesday, and everything was good. He was laughing. He’s a very quiet guy. He’d have some people over sometimes on Fridays or Saturdays, one or two, not a lot. He was a no problem guy."

At this time no arrests have been made.

The world is a much colder place with out him...Troy young reached my heart across the waters.... thousands of miles all the way to Scotland. He inspired me to have passion in all that i do... to live the dream and not give a dam what other think, who try to pull you down. Everything Troy had he did himself..he worked so hard to get where he was!!!

He suffered alone in his apartment..at the hands of his killer, loved my many... he will rise again just like the phenix from the ashes. I hope the evil creature of creatures who did this feel the pain that i feel

hey there, i read more about this guy and he seemed like a real nice fella so i recant my first post, so apart from my dicking around - no worries

and btw i was out last night enjoying the nightlife with people and friends so i am not all alone sitting under a bridge! (ha, funny image though, thanks) anyways, yeah don't take every day or night for granted, didn't warren zevon say enjoy every sandwich? so enjoy it

Who are these fucking assholes who talk shit about people dying/getting killed/or really injured.

I don't know this guy, but, it's a real frickin shame, whenever anyone dies young.

This guy was either straight up murdered in his own home, or maybe (though less likely) took his own life. Either way, it's real sad, and no one should go out like that.

Along with the guy who fell out of the elevator last month, this is now 2 BK musicians dying young. Real Shame man. My heart goes out to the family . . . man oh man, what a bummer.

Very sad - my condolences to his friends and family. As a fellow musician who just suffered a home invasion last week (thankfully, without any violent outcome), I find stories like this especially heartbreaking.

Damn, that's scary to hear, especially if it's a pattern.

Were they after cash or equipment? Was it your apartment or studio?

I hate to pry, but if you could give any insight it would help the rest of us to be prepared.

Troy was the drummer in my band, and the finest drummer I've ever worked with, not to mention one of the kindest people I've ever been friends with. He didn't deserve this. I am heartbroken and will miss him deeply. I knew him only through music and we did not have many mutual friends. If anyone knows anything about a funeral, please post.
