Brooklyn DA's Office Waits Too Long, Loses Case

New School Bus Routes Are So Busted The slow wheels of justice, in action: The Post reports, "The Brooklyn DA lost a child-endangerment case against an allegedly sadistic bus matron before it even got started -- sitting on the charges so long that a judge yesterday tossed the matter altogether." Back in 2006, "Connie Clark, had been charged with allowing P.J. Rossi, a mute, 8-year-old autistic boy from Staten Island, to repeatedly smash his head against a bus window as she taunted him and cracked jokes with the driver." Rossi's mother had put a tape recorder in his backpack, and Clark was recorded saying, as the boy whimpered, "Owwww, shut up, shut up, shut up, you little dog." Rossi's father is furious and regrets, "Instead of going off like a psycho, I did the right thing. I brought it to the Brooklyn DA's Office. And from the day I left there, it was mishandled." Even Clark's own lawyer said, "This case was blown by the DA's Office."

she didnt smash the kids head against the window

the kid kept smashing his own head against the window.

lets call this child a special needs child, hes so special he needs someone to cradle his head because he keeps smashing it against things, thats not the bus matrons job, thats what patent#4317239 is for.

the kid is so precious and special that it would take 4 adults in 8 hour shifts 24 hours a day to lovingly cradle his cranium to protect himself.

the media, the da and the general public ate this story up, and ended up falling on their own sword with some cockamamie story about it being lost in paperwork.

BS. they had NO case and let it slide rather make a fool of the mother in court.

DA's are in it for "justice" not compassion

    havent u heards yo!

    what was the crime?

lets see kid keeps bashing his head against the window.

mom buys tape recorder instead of a Protective helmet for the retarded (United States Patent 4317239).

whos's at fault, the us patent office, the parents, or the bus matron.

the lady with the agent99 fantasy would have been crucified by any half decent defense attorney.

New York law allows only 90 days before a judge must dismiss charges... (in misdemeanors cases)

thanks nypost! what ive said all along, if every disenfranchised minority said take it to trial the system would collapse.

congrats on the victory, notice there was no reading of the charges, a simple lookup would show that they prob didnt apply and there was no evidence except for a tape.

taunting a retard in your care is prob not cool,

    but not a crime.

smashing a child's head against a window is merely taunting? how about endangering the welfare of a child- a misdemeanor, ya jackass.

"taunting a retard in your care is prob not cool,

    but not a crime."

Nice. Nice way to talk about an autistic 8 year-old. Your compassion is overwhelming.

I have 2 kids. This story fucking infuriates me. It's disgusting. The DA's office should be sued by the parents. I don't know what I'd do if I was in their position.
