Bouncers Accused of Beating Gay Man for Dancing with Man

Tarlach MacNiallais
Tarlach MacNiallais is a gay activist from Belfast who helps run the Irish Lesbian and Gay Organization, which fights for homosexual inclusion in NYC's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. Around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, he says two security guards at the Jackson Heights nightclub/restaurant Guadalajara De Noche assaulted him because he was dancing with a man. A police source tells the Post, "[The bouncer] said, 'You can't do that here, this is not a gay bar.' " MacNiallais replied, "I have just as much right as anyone else." Then they allegedly wrestled him to the ground and dragged him away from the other dancers, before punching him, kicking him, and smashing a chair over his head.

MacNiallais was treated for cuts and bruises at Elmhurst Hospital Center. It's unclear if any arrests were made, but the assault is being treated as a possible hate crime, according to the Post. The news immediately sparked anger in the homosexual community and beyond, with one commenter on blog Joe.My.God writes, "Excellent. Now bouncers in Queens are enforcing gay Jim Crow laws that aren't yet on the books. I guess this is practice for the future, when the Christian Taliban takes over this country."

Typical you SP. Whenever your argument fails to fall on solid ground you resort to personal attacks. As far as the deceseny laws go I feel that being gay in public should be enforced. I meant kissing and doing deviant acts. (not including hot girls) http://www.bedroomdresser.org/

Hope you can share more valuable details like this with us in future

  • In a way its funny but at the same time its wrong.

  • It's really really frightening how every single thread on almost every single website has at least one post that is extremely prejudiced...and now I am seeing that one post growing to the majority of the thread. What is happening to the US? Why is it ok to hurt people for who they are? When did we start living in Pakistan? There are some people that I have seen..that I would consider unattractive, maybe even to the point of being grossed out. Do I have the right to beat them for it? No! If you don't like it, don't look!

Why, oh why, did I stop going out to clubs?

Oh yes, because they're always full of twats.

  • potsmoker

anybody notice the funny part of the headline..

"for Dancing with Man" and the part of the story "dragged him away from the other dancers"

wasnt the other man gay by association?

or was he dancing with men who didnt want to dance with him?

what happened to his dance partners?

  • NannyState

Then he was taken back to Guadalajara De Noche where he was pronounced "joto".

  • Kojak

"MacNiallais was treated for cuts and bruises at Elmhurst Hospital Center" Where he was pronounced dead.

He was then moved to a slightly better hospital where he was announced to be 'alive'.

Dude you cannot compare being black with being gay. A person is born black. Being gay is a CHOICE. So go fuck YOURself.... I have to disagree with this what man woud choose to be a faggot

Tells me everything I need to know about this latest rabelrouser looking to deliberately cause trouble in order to bring attention to his pathetic "cause".

    Next.

    Exactly!

I bet this character would never try dancing with another man in a neighborhood pub in Belfast! He knows what the bhoy-os would do to him.

But with great insensitivity he foists his life style on Mexicans. Well, they gave him the tanking he would have gotten in Belfast.

  • SP

"if they dont have a cabaret license and refused to leave for dancing in a private business were its technically not allowed,"

It's a NIGHTCLUB. The only one making the stupid cabaret license assumption is "thefacts." There were other people dancing there.

  • Dead Himmler

Yeah but the other people there were NOT gay and must have been extremely grossed out. I know that when I'm walking in Central park or the village and I see two gays kiss (not including hot girls) I am shocked and at times I just cannot look away. It's like a bad accident that you are curious to see.

"...when i'm walking...and i see two gays kiss (...hot[!]...)... i just cannot look away."

    fixed that for you.

im all for gay rights. marriage etc but it sounds like an inappropriate scenario, whats the point of pushing the issue in a mexican bar after midnight on a sat nite?

why doesnt he do this in the middle of a orthodox convention, same thing would happen. and if they dont have a cabaret license and refused to leave for dancing in a private business were its technically not allowed, then they are justified in ejecting him, just not beating the crap out of him.

gay it up in a cab, and get refused service, thats wrong.

get married, thats a needed civil right,

march in the st patricks day parade, sure why not.

be insulted or attacked for walking down the street holding hands, thats wrong.

go to a bar to push the issue with a crowd of drunk mental midgets and peabrained bouncers, well what did you think would happen?

  • Guest

in fucking new york? you mean the city that supposedly tolerates every single person regardless of gender, race, religion, etc, etc?

no.... this is fake news. things like this only happen elsewhere, like the south or something.

    ...

  • NannyState

It's really about the bouncer. When you hire 'em, you really run the risk of these incidents and all the negative press. So here's a thought: who would want to eat at a restaurant that feels like they need bouncers?

  • FDTW

I've never understood this argument. Every single bar/club I've ever been to has a bouncer on Friday and Saturday nights. Their main function seems to be checking IDs at the door, not breaking chairs over patrons heads.

Maybe he should been more aware of his surrounding, but that doesn't mean he should get the shit kicked out of him by the staff of the nightclub. Asked to leave, sure, its a privately owned venue, but beaten? Thats just not right.

  • Billiamsburg

You're a gay Irish man in a Mexcian nightclub in Queens. Be glad a chair was all you got hit with and take it as a lesson. You go to places youre accepted, not where you just have a 'right' to be.
