Pool Parties Will Return To Williamsburg Waterfront... Maybe!

poolparties1209.jpg After Senator Schumer spearheaded a movement to save JellyNYC's Pool Parties, word is that they will indeed keep their head above water this year.

According to the Brooklyn Paper, the state Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation has done a 180 since their announcement six weeks ago that East River State Park would be pushing the concert series from the premises.

The Parks Department confirmed there would be concerts at the Williamsburg waterfront space in 2010, but the paper says that JellyNYC founder Alexander Kane "wasn’t sure why his series got a new lease on life, but was happy anyway." Huh? We've contacted his partner in crime Sarah Hooper to see if she could shed some light on the reverse decision, and to triple confirm is this is really happening.

UPDATE: Senator Schumer tells us, “They have a much more positive attitude but we still have to work out a lot of details. This is progress, not a victory or a done deal. We need to keep the pressure on and continue to work together until it’s done.”
