MTV Staffers Receiving Threats Over Jersey Shore

jerseyshoreguy1209.jpg Did you guys watch Jersey Shore last week? All you really need to do is watch this animated gif and you'll get the gist. The show is the center of some controversy, with Italian-American group Unico National calling for its cancellation after promos aired on MTV using the word "guido." The show is still slated to air again, on schedule, tomorrow night — and the drama continues off-air as well.

The group has already called for members to ask advertisers to boycott the show (allegedly Dominos pizza has pulled their commercials), and now Fox news reports that MTV staffers have been the target of threats! An insider told them: "The MTV building in Times Square was getting crazy threats and they are in the process of hiring more security [and] bodyguards." Some of the threats were described as "violent."

Sheesh, whatever happened to just leaving a bloody horse head in the lobby?

I wonder if these alleged threats were just reported to gain PR for this latest unreality TV exploitation. I bet such a tactic would get a lot of attention from people online who never tire of stupid magic tricks, even when they are explained to them.

(This includes all you high and mighty hypocritical non Italian Americans too).

Interview on gay blog towleroadcom with Mike:

Jersey Shore's Mike Sorrentino (aka 'The Situation') tells E!'s Marc Malkin that he enjoys the attention he gets from gay men:

"I'm very confident in being Italian. I'm proud to have spiky hair and I'm proud to have my six-pack. Whoever doesn't like it, I'm not really too worried about it because everybody should love themselves. If you don't love yourself, who will? I'll be honest, I like the attention [from gay men]. I'm flattered if there are guys with different preferences that have crushes on me."

Fine I wont call them Guidos anymore. They can be considered "special needs" now.

  • Mr. Shankly

I've partied in Belmar with the natives. The stories, they are true.

ANyone remember the Dog Brothers from MTV sex in the 90's

  • theevilone

It's Real World: Retard Edition and it is MAGIC!

  • elpollodiablo

Of all the reasons to threaten MTV employees, this seems like a pretty poor one.

  • TrippinJoJo

seriously you'd think they'd threaten them because of their overall horrendous programming.

  • TrippinJoJo

hey folks don't give the "guido" persona credit to just the Italian-Americans. Greek-American "yutes" lead these kind of lives as well, among other young ethnic cultures. They're not the only grease balls with popped collars you know.

    Stupid.

  • sharpshoota

Typical pasta boys trying to intimidate everyone else for showing what they are. Give me a break...go to the shore and you will see who's there. If you are ashamed them tell your guido family members to stop acting like a bunch of morons. It's reality TV and this is the NY/NJ guido and guidette reality. I hope you don't change...it's too effin funny to watch.

BTW- these people are hardly italian. Italians have much more respect for themselves.

In that gif, I wonder what that chick did to get hit like that. Must have dropped her press-on nails in his Iroc-Z's gas tank.

Actually do Guido's still drive Iroc-Z's? I know they like those lights on the bottom of the car though, with the dance music pumpin'

  • zodak

all fakeality shows suck, i can't believe people keep watching this garbage. everyone watching this sh!t is responsible for the balloon boy & the white house party crashers.

  • whitecastlerock

That gif is a gift. I agree they shouldn't call these people guidos—they need to call them assholes. Grown men who put gallons of hair gel to make themselves look like the Heat Miser need to be rounded up and castrated...

  • HughGass

Would they create a show stereotyping Jews?

    Seinfeld was built around it.

  • Guest

Every Jewish comedians standup routine is about it...

My Italian friends and I make a lot of fun of "Guidos" from time to time, even calling each other that when we want to act silly. One thing is to do so in a private setting with people who can get the joke, but i think that creating a TV program that is going to be potentially watched by millions of people is a step in the wrong direction. It helps perpetuate a stereotype.

  • thewildpansy

A stereotype about WHAT? Italians? NO. Guidos, yes! The only racist ones are the ones that are making it about Italians. You FUCK.

  • I kind of feel like guidos are mythical creatures.

I'm sure most of you have seen this gem:

  • nicemarmot

They definitely exist. My Italian-American fiance's family is all from Jersey and there are a few guido types among the younger generation. Everybody else in the family mocks them constantly.
