AMNH Offering Ph.Ds in Dinos

phpGBhOoLPM.jpg Do you wanna get your Ph.D. in pterodactyls? Good news: the American Museum of Natural History's graduate school was awarded full accreditation recently — making it the first US museum to grant doctorate degrees.

The museum had already been offering graduate courses, but instead of going elsewhere to get their degrees, students can now get a degree from the museum itself. Courses are being conducted at the 77th Street building, "which has a lecture hall, teaching lab and a two-story student center," according to the NY Post.

Their Ph.D. program in comparative biology uses curators and scientists as professors, and dean John Flynn says, "We're looking for the best students who are out there." Those students will be able to assist in the development of museum exhibits, give public lectures and mentor high-schoolers.

Do they offer football or basketball scholarships? How about a PHD in sea shells. I have a nice collection from when I went to Puerto Rico a few years back.
