Madonna's Model Boyfriend Makes $$$ As A DJ

2009_11_luz.jpg Madonna's 22-year-old boyfriend Jesus Luz gets the NY Times Styles section treatment. Sure, he met his ridiculously famous 51-year-old girlfriend for a W fashion shoot last year, but now, he's not only modeling. "He enrolled at a D.J. school in Manhattan and in no time has landed high-profile gigs. For the 90-minute set he was spinning Nov. 12, only his second professional D.J. outing in the city, he was being paid around $15,000" (PR people hope Madonna will show). The Brazil native also loves New York, "I like the strong energy of the people in the city and how they work and run behind your ideals here. It is very contagious in a good way. Sometimes when I look at the Statue of Liberty, I feel a sensation similar to when I look at the statue of Christ in Rio.”

I wonder if a guy like that has even an ounce of self-respect left.

wait... D.J.'s have their own school???

Operating two iPods at once can get confusing.

Yeah, there is one on University Place and it is pathetic to see the losers outside at smoke break.

If you need to go to school, you ain't no DJ. It's inherent.

It's not inherent, that's silly. It's imitative. It's EXACTLY what you can learn by going and paying you someone to show you how to do it, though that does kill some of the street cred. Of course, so does living out of Madonna's pocket.

I wouldn't say it's inherent, but perhaps intuitive... being an actual DJ, anyway. But celebrity iPod DJs are a whole different thing and don't need to be able to put together brilliant segues or mixes, or play off the room or anything. All that matters is the name and what celebrity friends will hang out with them.

As for working two iPods at once, most don't even do that. It's just juggling a play list.

Yes, they have thier own school, and everyone who graduated w/ him is now making $15,000 per one and half hours of playing.
Wait...what? No? How come?
Hes playing the hand that was dealt him, good for him.

So, I guess I'm going to be a DJ then... :D

I think you will have to sleep with Madonna to get that kind of $$$

run behind your ideals? What does that even mean?

I run ahead of my ideals. In fact, I leave my ideals in the dust!

Living off a woman.

Is this guy serious?

How in the world does he think that anybody would be taking him serious? Notice how everywhere he plays, they all want HER to be there and/or show up. It is HER that they want at their parties, they deal with the next best thing and pray that she comes???!!!!????? Good Lord! What has become of this world.

This is pathetic.

And to even ask for that price, literally makes my skin craw. To even ask that???? He wanted $30,000.00 to play Vegas. And what in the world is his credentials? He is a looser, if it wasn't for HER, where would he be today? A freakin' nobody, still home in Brazil.

If he was man enough, he would say, no thanks, I need to do this on my own. And prove himself to the world that he can do this, like any other person...by work, and by NOT, sleeping with HER! He is famous...by association. And the minute he messes up..lets see how long he remains "famous".

Hold onto it buddy(Jesus), Enjoy it while you can.

Why take this world so seriously?
Madonna isn't forcing all these people to pay money to hear him spin. Are they there because of Madonna or his face or pointless buzz? He's getting 15K a night from idiots and sheepeople, why not take the money before they just throw it away at someone even less talented?

DJ Cougar, mixing the worst of the '70s, '80s, '90s...
