  • A bomb placed on the tracks of a Moscow-to-St. Petersburg high-speed train killed at least 26 people. Russian authorities believe it was a terrorist attack.
  • An elderly Lower East Side resident was critically injured when a fire started in her apartment, after she lit religious candles.
  • A look at the Thanksgiving Day Parade performance prep that campers at the Stagedoor Manor (alums include Natalie Portman and Robert Downey Jr.) had to go through.
  • An inmate says that Roman Polanski got special privileges in Swiss jail, though Polanski, as an extradition detainee, may have been allowed more freedoms than regular prisoners. Polanski's friend says the director has lost 30 pounds in jail.
  • Sidewalk Santas kicked off their donation drive yesterday.
  • And Pulp Fiction co-screenwriter Roger Avary was supposedly in prison, serving out a sentence for a fatal DUI, but his Twitter postings made authorities realize he was in a less demanding work furlough program—so now he's back in serious lock-up!
