Fearing Simulated Blow Job, GMA Cancels Performance

php66U2RmPM.jpg If you missed the American Music Awards this past Sunday night, and you probably did, then you didn't see ex-American Idol singer Adam Lambert's S&M charged performance. To catch you up: at about 1:18 in this video you'll see Lambert grind a male dancer's face into his crotch, before the cameras awkwardly pan down to the floor, blushing.

Now it seems ABC is bringing their own brand of punishment — they've cancelled the openly gay singer's performance on Good Morning America! A rep says, "Given his controversial live performance on the AMA's, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning." She's right, no one likes blow jobs in the morning.

UPDATE: Video has been removed, see full image after the jump and just use your imagination.

UPDATE II: Lambert says: "They gotta do what they gotta do," and will now appear on CBS's The Early Show tomorrow morning!

A bit sad when performers resort to this kind of distasteful "entertainment".

Let's be honest for a moment here, ABC got 1,500 complains when the show had over 14 million viewers. That's a 0.0001% of the audience. Most people, like me, would had never heard of it unless some one wanted to unleash a storm inside a glass of water. Now everyone wants to show a clip of that same bit that was pictured above, including 8AM morning shows. They are just making this worse than it was. Fabricated sensationalism.

"Fabricated sensationalism."

Is there any other kind?

He got what he wanted with his AMA performance: controversy and people talking about him. The public can be played so easily. And GMA plays along....

I'm just yawning......

More like the media gets played so easily. It didn't exactly get a ton of complaints from the public.

you're right. GMA canceled his performance even without any real outrage. Plus, his performance would have been totally different from the AMA anyway.
All around a sad story. for America.

Garden variety "shock" performer: talentless, on borrowed time from Simon Fuller, etc.

GMA is crap. I wll no longer watch this show. They clearly have some real homophobia going on, I hope Sam Champion quits them next!

No, Sam's not going to leave. He's gonna start slipping gay double entendres into his weather segments. "This cold front is penetrating the region from behind the Catskills, and it'll simultaneously reach around for more action on the tip of Pennsylvania."

Have they not heard of tape delay over at GMA?

He should be ashamed. But that's not expected

Why should he be ashamed? Because he made homophobes uncomfortable? Please. Cry me a river.

Not any more a douche than any of the other performers.

Why are the censors such cocksuckers?

Am I the only one here old enough to remember that David Bowie did this back in '72?

As believable as Michael Jackson in his ridiculous codpiece, rubbing his..."crotch".

This has nothing to do with homophobia...forcing someone's head down to your penile area is a violent and crude act, and would have been frowned upon just as much if he had done it to the girl standing behind him.

Violent?

Perhaps he should have gently pulled the guy's head around his crotch...in a very loving and romantic way. Would that have helped ease the pain you've experienced?

I did not even notice the blow job simulation while watching the performance live, probably because I was far more disturbed by the horrendous choice of song and perfomance

repulsive poser. i think we've finally hit rock bottom.

good thing they censored this. I hate to think how many people caught gay the first time it was aired!
