Embattled political journalist Dominic Carter told the press yesterday that he was innocent, but that the allegations of domestic abuse and his conviction of attempted assault mean that his family has "lost everything."
A tearful Carter apparently broke down after "being fingerprinted like a common hood," according to the Daily News. "I'm a kid who grew up with nothing, absolutely nothing," he sobbed. "I worked my whole life for everything and this is what I get." The anchor will be sentenced on Jan. 14 and could face up to six months in jail, putting his future at NY1 — where he has worked since the station's inception in 1992 — in jeopardy. "Look at where my life is. My family has lost everything. My homes are going to be foreclosed soon," he said. "This is not a game."
Carter was accused of "punching, choking and kicking" his wife, Marilyn, who called cops on her husband, though she later blamed an unknown day laborer for the attack — a premise a judge deemed "preposterous." She told reporters: "I don't have anything to say."

note to all convicted wife-beaters, and other violence-challenged people: when trying to garner support and sympathy for your personally-made hellish life: it might be a better thing not to whine about your homes ( P L U R A L ) being foreclosed. just sayin'.
yeah i was biased enough against him on account of his dullness... but for real?
To be fair, if you work in Manhattan for a 24-hour news show and your family lives in Orange County, a second home in the city isn't excessive, if you can afford it. If you can't, then it's naptime in the breakroom.
That said, screw him.
Apparently he still thinks he is the victim here, when he was the attacker and source of all his current problems. Sheesh.
many, many of these wifebeaters have that trait----that self-pity, feeling sorry for themselves
