Can The Giants Snap Out Of It?

The Giants have had two weeks to think about the unraveling of their season. A four-game losing streak punctuated by a last-second loss to the Chargers has put the entire season into question after a 5-0 start. But, New York will get a couple of fortunate breaks this Sunday.

Start with the state of their opponent. The Falcons are also 5-4, but they will not have their best rusher, Michael Turner and the backup running back, Jerious Norwood is questionable for Sunday. In addition, their top receiver, Roddy White, has a knee injury and is also questionable.

So, Atlanta will be banged up on offense, but can the Giants take advantage of it? They will be without Antonio Pierce, which will hurt, but Aaron Ross should be back in the secondary and that is huge. With the addition of Ross, the Giants can deploy three very good cornerbacks against the Atlanta defense.

On offense, Eli Manning has had two weeks to rest his injured heel and the coaches sound like they are willing to let Brandon Jacobs pound the ball more. Put it all together and New York should snap their losing streak and head into a short week at 6-4.
