Thank goodness for the Gothamist tipsters. Until we read Contribute we weren't sure if last night's really loud clap of thunder that woke us up was real or part of a nightmare. There's no mention of thunder in the Weather Service's hourly report and we were getting worried that the thunder of our dreams could be so loud. Was anyone else woken up by the thunder? The storms cells form the line of blue-green blobs above.
If you look at the hourly report you'll notice that something happened between six and seven this morning. The pressure jumped, the winds shifted, the rain stopped, and the dew point dropped. All signs of a cold front passage. With the front out of the way we've got a mostly sunny and warm day ahead. The mercury should hover around 60 degrees until late-afternoon.
More sun is in store for the weekend. The mostly clear skies will give us cool mornings and warm afternoons. Look for a high in the upper 50s tomorrow and mid 50s on Sunday. Rain returns on Monday as part of a coastal storm.

woke my ass up
Yea I freaking woke up five times from 3:30 to 5:30!
i was drunk. did i miss something?
It woke me up around 4am and I saw the brightest flash of lightning ever. Though maybe it just seemed bright because I was asleep and not adjusted to light yet.
You saw the light after the sound? No we know you're lyin'... :)
this shit fucked up my Time Warner cable! Damn it was LOUD!!!!!
I thought it was alien invasion, it was the loudest bang ever
That's what she said!
i slept like a dead baby
You people are effin' babies.
The storms last night and in the morning were due to scalar weather engineering.
I heard one single boom last night. There was no additional thunder in that series and it was man made, not part of established weather patterns.
First, take two scalar potential beam transmitters, separated on the necessary baseline to form a beam interferometer. Let them interfere at a distance. Now in that distant interference zone (IZ), there is an ambient vacuum potential (spacetime potential, or spacetime stress). If the electrical circuit grounds of the interferometer transmitters are biased ABOVE the ambient potential in the IZ, then scattering EM energy (heating) emerges in the IZ. This is the exothermic mode of operation. If the electrical circuit grounds of the interferometer are biased negatively below the ambient potential in the IZ, then convergent EM energy (cooling) emerges in the IZ. This is the endothermic mode of operation.
So by merely biasing the electrical grounds of a scalar potential interferometer, one can produce heating or cooling in the distant IZ. If one just "radiates," one produces distant steady heating or steady cooling. If one sharply pulses the interferometer, one produces a distant hot explosion or a distant cold explosion.
The noise is based on this process unfolding which in this case was not a natural weather pattern, it was man made.
I'm just wondering how many times people have told you that you are crazy.
Or as Freud once said "Sometimes a cold front is just a cold front."
And whoever did it just happened to have done it in the middle of the night at the precise time that radar was showing a line of storm cell in the area?
People called Nikola Tesla crazy as well as Albert Einstein and Von Neumann and many other scientists and mathematicians too numerous to list. I take that as a complement.
As Andy Grove of Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel fame was told about surface state contamination, the Intel CPU is just NOT DOABLE.
Read his book :
"As Andy Grove, the former CEO of Intel, entitled his book: Only the Paranoid Survive."
All the intellectuals in life are the ones attacked. So attacking me without facts or intellectual chatter just makes my argument all the stronger.
All truth passes through three stages:
First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
