More Pleasant Weather On the Way

Yesterday was about as pleasant a mid-November day as one could hope for in New York. The high temperature in Central Park was 66 degrees. The big weather difference between yesterday and today is the passage of a weak late-night cold front. With the lower humidity behind the front we'll have crystal clear skies and a breezy high around 60.

We're in a sneaky little warm spell. The temperature hasn't dipped below normal in more than a week and three days since last Sunday have been more than ten degrees above average. The city is now several days past the median date of first freeze. Although it will cool to around 40 tonight -bundle up if you're going to see the Leonid Meteor Shower- no frost is in sight for at least the next week.

Fair weather is expected to continue through Thursday. A cut-off low is pummelling Kansas and Missouri this week and looks to be our weather maker when it finally breaks free and gets to the East Coast on Friday. The storm will have greatly weakened by then so we'll see showers and a high near 60 and not snow or flooding.

Does anyone know of a good place in NYC to check out the meteor shower? I am without access to a roof and am not about to hang out in a park at 4 a.m. What say ye?
