Monmouth College Fans Taunt Isiah With Chants

2009_11_isiah.jpg When Isiah Thomas returned to the tri-state area, bringing his Florida International team to play NJ's Monmouth College, the home crowd decided to go nostalgic with their jeers. According to the Daily News, they yelled, "sexual harassment," "take Lunesta," "Anucha Sanders," and "Magic hates you." Thomas took it in stride, "I'm used to being in a hostile work environment as athlete and former Bad Boy, every place we went to was this kind of environment... It's all in good spirit and good fun, that's what being a fan is all about. ... I thought the students were well in line and in bounds with the chants that they were saying."

I really wish I felt sorry for Isiah but I don't.

Typically mean spirited NJ crowd.

As opposed to those lovable & kindhearted NYC crowds?
This was a sad, sad attempt at disparaging New Jersey.
Try again sir!

he half destroyed the current knick franchise, along with starbury. but if you want to place someone to blame for the state of the knicks, blame it on dolan.

i like mike d'antoni, but just you watch, he'll be the next scapegoat. dolan is the cancer

This just in: Sports fans boo opposing team!

Regardless of his iconic playing career, when you factor in his more recent history and personality, how in heavens name did he manage to get a job in basketball at all? Just looking at his image in this article tells you more than you need to know about him.

Small school that figured his name would sell some tickets -- even if a good of them are people coming so they can taunt the coach.
