Greenwich Village Water Main Break

This afternoon, there was a water main break at Bleecker and Carmine Streets. As this photograph shows, it created a burbling, muddy-looking lake on the street.

I was there! I saw it! Big deal. No one was killed.

Yet another water main break in the W. Village.

I can only imagine what that smelled like!!

What do you imagine the water from your tap smells like? ;)

Its water from the fresh water supply, not sewage. Sewage isn't pressurized (usually) like that.

Did it stop anyone from looking fabulous? I sure hope not!

Urban kayakers are advised to avoid the Class 3 rapids on Bleeker and the Class 5 rats on Carmine.

how is this news if you cant assign a sex&thecity angle to it?
