Superhero-Friendly Phone Booths

phpQtNMXWPM.jpg

Good news everyone: street artist Posterchild has brought superhero changing stations to NYC! How convenient for the caped and masked crusaders amongst us, and much needed since traditional phone booths are nearly extinct.

Urban Prankster opines: "I love these unauthorized projects because they’re turning useless eyesores into art. There are certain city blocks in NY that have upwards of 10 public telephones. When is the last time anyone used a payphone? These structures are simply huts to cash in on advertising dollars, and they needlessly pollute the scenery of our streets."

Meanwhile, in other pay phone news: Miss Heather has a glimpse at the future of Bedford Avenue.

Wow., So caustic, and obvious. Some non-happening/never-to-be-happening artists here upset with other people getting exposure.

The corpse of Marcel Duchamp gets even crustier.

  • NannyState

A modified phone booth with an Ur-corporate looking "Superhero changing station" sign? Marcel Duchamp might just come back from the dead to laugh his mouldering ass off at the likes of this fifth-form art school piffle.

It was funnier 31 years ago in the first Superman movie. When can Posterchild get some ideas of his own?

It'd be better if you just went to anger-management classes... or finally just came out of the closet...

Yeah, they aren't booths... lots of pay phones have this kind of shelter thingy.

  • thewildpansy

It's not funny because these aren't actual phone booths.

Unless it's Wonder Woman, I'm not interested.

  • PapiX

I think the artist misspelled 'place for homeless to defecate.'

  • allthewine

Yeah I guess superheros are too broke for cell phones.

"When is the last time anyone used a payphone?"

Wow - out of touch with the proletariat much?

This is on par with Improv Everywhere, which is to say it's not funny nor even remotely creative.
