"Tubby Temptress" Speaks Out About Steve Phillips Affair

2009_11_bhund.jpg The 22-year-old former ESPN production assistant whose affair with former Mets GM and baseball analyst Steve Phillips hit the front pages of the tabloids was on Good Morning America today. Brooke Hundley said, "I did things I regret, obviously. People make mistakes at 22. That's what I was trying not to do originally, was hurt anybody else or affect anybody else's lives negatively. But I did things and I thought about things just as an avenue to get people to pay attention, to start asking the right questions, to get me out of a bad situation."

Hundley, who asked for a restraining order against Phillips, only to withdraw it, claims Phillips threatened her to keep their affair a secret and while she didn't directly discuss how she stalked his wife—giving her a letter with explicit details about their affair—and contacted his son online, Hundley said, "I think the only thing I could really say to [Phillips' wife] is that as someone whose family has been ripped apart over this just as much as someone who has, you know, 500 phone calls, e-mails, letters, paparazzi outside my apartment, reporters wanting me to talk and to say something, that I understand her pain....Do I feel bad bringing her into a situation that I couldn't control that really wasn't about her? Absolutely."

Hundley was also upset about being called terrible things—"I couldn't go a day without getting, you know, 200 messages in my inbox from people that have never met me, just labeling, just calling me names. I've been called the 'C' word. I've been called a whore. I've been called a homewrecker"—as well as a certain comedian's take, "When Jay Leno was using my looks as part of his opening monologue to get a cheap laugh," she said. "At that point, you know, a person has their breaking point. That was my breaking point. I had a friend who had to come stay with me because she was concerned that mentally I would not be able to take much more. "

Normally I don't feed bad for the women, but "Tubby Temptress" is brutal. The good news is that no one watches Leno anymore. This scandal shall pass.

Hungry Homewrecker

Must be tough to realize that you used your 15 minutes and came away with little more than the moniker "Tubby Temptress". Oh, and a restraining order.

She's not playing the victim card is she? From Tubby Temptress to Whining Whale.

"Do I feel bad bringing her into a situation that I couldn't control that really wasn't about her?"

really? Sounds like you acted like a crazy love starved woman - way to take non-ownership for being mental

Does this chick think anyone is buying what she is selling? I'm sure being called a total hosebeast in the national media was a blow to her self-esteem, but her current spin about being harassed is pathetic. She does a real disservice to the women that are really harassed.

Going to the wife is not a cry for help. Going to the wife is trying to claim the man as yours. Try again, hosebeast.

Oh please. She is playing the stupid innocence card game. She knew exactly what she wanted and what she was doing.

"I understand her pain."

Big difference. The wife's pain is caused by something she had no control over. Hundley's is caused by a series of decisions she made herself.

Granted 22-year olds make a lot of mistakes. Still, no sympathy here whenever someone reaps what they sow. We've all had to do it.

Exactly, Jaycjay! For a long time, she made several decisions that most would second-guess before acting on. And, until she finally wakes up, she will probably continue to victimize herself in her attempts to erase her past without considering the repercussions of her actions.

the goggles, they do nothing.

Geez- What a 'skank-a-potamus'. . .

This social parasite is lucky she could get laid at all!

I hope she really enjoyed it, and gave it at least two pages in her diary; because looking middle-aged at 22- (and with her wonderful record of discretion-) she'll be lucky if she ever gets laid again. . . even for money!!

What a moron!

Dirt-poor man's Ricki Lake, pre-weight loss.

Argh, first Jon Gosselin's trick and now this! I'm so sick of the "Wah, I'm only 22; young people make mistakes!" hogwash. I'm 23, and magically I have avoided getting into a high profile relationship with an older, married man. How on earth did I manage to get over the 22-year-old hump?

I'm not saying I made no mistakes. I'm not saying there aren't plenty of mistakes I will make later. But COME ON with the youth excuse! I'm so over it.

I was reading somewhere about why women cheat and it didn't even mention anything about money.

This chick needs to get real - she fancied screwing this guy and she did, knowing full well he was high-profile. Complaining afterwards that Jay Leno is mocking your appearance is a bit rich. Still, this is her 15 minutes I guess.
