Racy Calvin Klein Ad Infuriates Prudes, Again

Just months after Calvin Klein pulled down a risqué billboard amidst complaints from neighbors and a Christian advocacy group, the jeans and skivvies manufacturer has installed a new ad on the same wall that has once again sparked controversy among the prudes in SoHo, according to the Daily News. Filling a space that recently depicted a denim-clad threesome (or foursome depending on your perspective), the new ad shows a sweaty Eva Mendes in lingerie tugging at a male model's briefs.

The heterosexual scene shows too much semi-nude action, according to 55-year-old MTA worker Carl Wilson. "Some of us don't want to expose our kids to something like this — it's borderline pornography." But 24-year-old Carlos Gamez, who works down the block at the Adidas store, said the ad is nothing if not effective: "I think it's sexy as hell," he said. "It makes me want to go out and buy some drawers like that."

Advocacy Groups, the best advertising imaginable. You want everybody to see it, get some prudish groupthink group up in arms and it's on international news. LOL. And it said there isn't genius in today's society.

This is really not a good picture of the sign. I could swear in the real thing you can see the top of Eva's bush. Too bad that guy's probably gay and not able to appreciate that he's getting paid to have an almost-naked and greased up Eva Mendes roll around on his schlong.

Maybe the Calvin Klein billboards should show their mostly naked sweatshop workers who can't afford clothes.

Same old story. I saw the ad a week ago or something and couldn't tell if it was old or new. But good for Calvin Klein - his ad team sure knows how to stretch a billboard buck by playing the same hand over and over again.

And no one has a problem with billboards for Hustler club or any other titty joints in the city, along major highways where kids can see them?

    isn't that posh and becks?

The male model looks confused as to why this penis-less person is grabbing his underwear.

  • Whatever happens parents, DON'T TALK TO YOUR KIDS ABOUT SEX. Santa Claus & Jesus ought to be enough for them to forget about their filthy, filthy genitals.

Any product that makes Eva Mendes tug at my drawers is one that I need to purchase.

You can see more than that on the High Line under the Standard

For once the Christian complainers are right. We can't promote the notion that people's bodies are their own property to do with as they please with whomever they wish to do it with. Such thoughts create notions of freedom which get in the way of authoritarianism.

I'm sure most people who say they are offended by the ad are fat.

That's racy? Her wrist is covering up the chub, what's the big deal? Would have been racier if there was a spot of the pre on his drawers, in the shape of a Ck to really emphasize the brand.
