Thompson Is "Proud Of The Campaign"

2009_11_thomp2.jpg City Comptroller Bill Thompson has no regrets about his mayoral campaign or his narrow loss, telling the Daily News, "I just stopped [the what if thoughts]. That's not helpful. When I woke up Wednesday, I would have liked to have woken up having won. But I was proud of the campaign." (Still, others are what-if-ing.) He is meeting with Mayor Bloomberg next week and said of the election,"It wasn't just the term limit issue. You talk about the affordability issue in the city of New York and people not being able to afford to stay and live here. He should listen to what the voters said on Tuesday night."

he probably also said in private, "and thank you, Mr Bloomberg, for the money. I hope I served you properly as a mayoral candidate. please feel free to use me any time" while kneeling in servitude

    thewildpansy,

I agree with you, but how does a mayor solve this? I attribute the high costs to the desirability of the city (supply and demand). The city is (compared to the 80s and even 90s) clean, safe and much more desirable to many people. How should our mayor deal with the affordability problem?

    (serious question)

NOTE: I and others wrote and warned about using JETS AS WEAPONS to raze the Twin Towers, beginning in 1994.

I was called "crazy" by everyone.

Just like when I insisted for 5 years as an investigative reporter that Kerik was a crook.

I was called "crazy" by everyone.

I've got thousands more concrete points like these.

    It's too late now.

You didn't listen when I warned y'all for 8 YEARS that Bloombag was a criminal dictator SUPER-LIAR, and I've got to say I'm kind of glad Mike is going to make you pay dearly for your apathy and sheepishness.

[reader gets angry at CXB even though they know he's right]

The outrageous costs in NYC is only the FAULT of ONE MAN: THE MAYOR.

EX: Bloombag got elected by promising no tax hikes (and broke that promise minutes later) (this is felony fraud, alone).

HIS 25% property tax hike ALONE----coupled with his goons' higher "assessments" of all property (to justify even higher tax revenues)----created the LARGEST property tax hikes in NYC's 300 year history.

THIS MEANS ONLY ONE THING: record inflation, as the pizza guy, bodega, movie theater, restaurant, and EVERYONE ELSE have to raise their prices to pay for the record tax hikes, Con Ed hikes, water hikes, etc, ALL b/c of Bloombag.

And this is just ONE example!

    Want more?

    BLOOMBAG increased NYC's already-largest-in-history budget from $40 billion (2001) to $60 billion (2009).

WHERE DO YOU THINK that extra $20billion-a-yearIS GOING TO COME FROM?

    YOU.

    Shall I go on.

IF YOU PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE IGNORANT SHEEP, THEN IT'S ONLY FITTING THAT YOU HAVE A MORON FOR MAYOR.

I can't wait til Tax Hike Mike balloons taxes next year and guts services!

The MTA is also beyond bankruptcy, SUCKERS! (I ride a bike b/c I'm smart.)

    YOU SNOOZE, YOU SHOULD LOSE.

You are already the highest-taxed-for-nothing-in-return humans on earth (New Yorkers)---ie, you are irrefutably the dumbest humans to ever live.

    Watch what happens next!

You WILL pay for your ignorance.

    WORST MAYOR EVER.
