For truly special occasions when a bottle of Two Buck Chuck simply won't suffice, the discerning oenophile may soon turn to 7-Eleven, where a far more sophisticated wine will be sold. Sure, the $3.99 price tag may give some pause, but sometimes in life you've got to pamper yourself a little bit. 15,000 7-Eleven outlets will start stocking chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon; the chardonnay is described as zesty with notes of apricot, peach and honey; and the cab as full-bodied with juicy plum Slurpee overtones. In many states, including NY, wine is not allowed to be sold anywhere but a liquor store. That means that 7-11 will either leave certain states out, or it's going to be that garbage wine under 9% alcohol content to comply with the law. I'm sure the link might answer the question, but I wonder if they'll sell real wine and garbage wine from state to state?
So they'll be stocking the wino wine of choice- Chateau Diana?
More like Chateau-Boricua and Mizz Mercedes Red Wine
Actually, they already stock quite a few types of wine at some 7-11s. I've definitely seen a small rack of them at the one on King's Highway in Brooklyn.
Then what you are seeing is the weak alcohol wine that is sold at some bodegas. In New York any business may only have one license to sell liquor. That's why there is only on Trader Joe's liquor store and one Costco store in Brooklyn as well (that doesn't require membership, btw).
Everything is exactly right. When I walk around here drunk every night. With an open container from 7-Eleven.
I'm in St. Ide's heaven.
CVS drugstore sells Chateau Diana but some prefer Percoset.
I think the State assembly has a bill to allow supemarket's
to sell wine like in California and NC, cannot wait.
Finally, that stale wine odor gets paired with an explanation.
Is it $3.99 for a normal bottle or a 128oz. super mega mondo gulp?
wine, or wine product?
In Thailand, you can get Johnny Walker at 7-Eleven. I bought Black Label for about $10US.
