MS-13 Gang Put Hit Out On Federal Agent

2009_11_m16.jpg A member of the notorious MS-13 gang told police that the gang's El Salvadorian leaders put a hit out on a federal agent meddling in the gang's NYC activities. Walter "Dukes" Torres was arrested along with four others for hassling passersby in Queens last month and said he was in New York "for the specific purpose of participating in the planning and execution of the murder plot...Gang members were trying to get their hands on a high-powered assault rifle, like an M-16. to penetrate the agent's bulletproof vest." Another gang member said bosses were "exceedingly angry" at the unidentified Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.

Put them in a pen with the bloods and the crips initiate a death match. Winner gets one way ticket to El Salvador.

  • bklynbagel

if we hadn't deported half these gangsters, they wouldn't have gone home and recruited new people with a tougher stance. its a retarded cycle and its only going to get worse. hopefully ms doesn't grow in nyc. nyc is a different game than la

  • JohnTheDesigner

These thugs are illegal immigrants, taking advantage of our entitlement-driven immigration policies and underfunded border patrol. Anyone think they're doing the jobs Americans wouldn't do?

  • schadenfreudian mensch

They're certainly doing the jobs that Sicilian hitmen wouldn't do.

  • youngpro

MS-13 should NOT be taken lightly- don't mess. Google them and Los Angeles and see the hits you get. They make the Bloods and Crips look like amateurs in terms of how they deal with enemies. They take any and all prisoners and use guerilla-like tactics to do it. And now they've penetrated NYC?

  • jaycjay

    "And now they've penetrated NYC?"

They've been a known presence in the NYC area for at least a decade. Like most gangs, though, the connections between local cliques or chapters and any large scale organization is tenuous. Plenty of crime especially in certain suburbs is attributed to guys with MS-13 affiliation of some kind, usually small time stuff related to their drug trade. But it's not like there's somewhere some supreme ruler telling every MS-pledged banger what to do.

  • longacre

Apparently, except for the crucial "having guns" part which is vital to any successful gang.

  • hotstepper

    this story is utter bullshit.

  • NewHCE

You know, I am thinking that as well. You are a supposed hit man, yet you go to city/state with the toughest gun control in the land and try to buy the wrong gun that has been all but banned for decades, and you get arrested for harassing people on the street?

Something tells me he is just spinning a yarn to get a deal/give himself some cred.

  • longacre

So it only took a little disorderly conduct charge for this guy to flip and rat out a conspiracy to murder a Federal agent? Either there are a lot of details missing from this story, or this guy is really dumb. Either way, chances are his jail term will be end painfully and long before his sentence is up.

  • zodak

can't we just shoot these animals on sight?

  • NewHCE

Well, I guess this is a victory for gun control advocates who continually lie about relative lethality of guns. A 30-06 bolt action deer rifle would be more deadly than an M16.

  • ides_of_march

    Celebrate diversity!

  • jibbly

Yes, I agree, celebrate diversity, but what does that have to do with psycho gangs trying to assassinate people?

  • schadenfreudian mensch

    ICE, ICE, Baby.

  • Kojak

    Sheesh. MS-13 Don't play.

The only way to counter such tactics is to use superior firepower. I'd send in Army Rangers & Special forces.

  • jaycjay

"The only way to counter such tactics is to use superior firepower."

They were trying to get an assault rifle. They didn't have even one. Of course if this were a TV show like Sons of Anarchy or The Shield, gangs like MS-13 would have huge arsenals at their disposal. But they still couldn't shoot as accurately as our heroes, so it wouldn't really matter.

  • Kojak

MS-13 is NOT like the Crypts or the Bloods, they are actually a far more violent gang known for their harsh methods. They shouldn't be taken lightly.

That being said, Special Forces knocking heads & kicking ass is always a nice thing to see.

  • schadenfreudian mensch

And yet with all that violence under their rather large belt they couldn't "acquire" a high power assault rifle in El Salvador from the army or from any number of other banana republics surrounding them? That speaks more about their incompetence than anything else.
