As quickly as you can say nuke-yu-ler, the hotly anticipated debate between George W. Bush and Bill Clinton has been called off! At first we assumed it was because when Bush agreed to the debate, he thought he'd be going up against George Clinton, the brain-fried frontman for Parliament-Funkadelic, not Bill Clinton, world-renowned master debater. But turns out, it's Clinton who's withdrawn.
Clinton spokesman Matt McKenna insists the former presidents never agreed to a "debate"—what they'd signed up for was a breezy moderated panel discussion, like the one between their cronies Carville and Rove in May. McKenna tells the Post, "This event ... was supposed to be a discussion between the two former presidents, and has been canceled because it was not being billed as such by an overeager promoter." Okay, fine, so it's not a "debate!" Why pull the plug on the whole thing? Can't we still watch these two "discuss" how Bush burned through America's $2.2 trillion surplus and left us living in a Mad Max-style tent city?

"Can't we still watch these two "discuss" how Bush turned America's $2.2 trillion surplus into...a Mad Max-style tent city?"
Waiting for all the neocons to explain this fiscal abomination of 'fiscally conservative' Bush in
3...2..1.
(don't hold your breath, kiddies.)
it took 10 comments, but we got there. we even get the added bonus of "obama" and "savior" used in the same sentence. hot!
LAME!
Clinton backed out? Probably didn't wanna make a fool of W----TOO LATE
What! I was so ready to fork over money to see this!
Hardly the first time Clinton has pulled out early. Hi-yo!
i'll bet poppy bush put in a call to clinton to back out.
What happens to the steel cage?
oh no. this is like prom night all over again.
what a letdown.
Yea because EVERYTHING is George Bush's fault. We didnt get attacked and didn't go to war or anything like that. These things don't cost money.
Oh and the financial collapse was Bush's fault too. It had Nothing to do with Bill Clinton and his changing of the rules for getting house mortgage and then those people not being able to pay for the house they couldn't afford to begin with.
Its just way easier to blame Bush for everything.
Bush is just a dumb guy that didn't go to YALE AND HARVARD. Oh thats right his family paid for those diplomas.
The Bush hate is just soo soo old and tired already.
Oh and Obama is the savior of the world right? Please
Best troll ever!
It's bad form to publicly embarrass a colleague if not necessary.
Yet another reason why Ticketmaster should be sued. I bought two tickets this morning, and then it is canceled tonight. No problem there, cancellations happen. Then I look at my email and see that a $3.20 processing fee is non-refundable. Assholes.
I knew this was too good to be true.
