Kerik To Take Plea Deal for Less Than 3 Years

110409bernard_kerik.jpg Former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik is expected to accept a plea bargain and plead guilty to at least one of the corruption charges against him. Under the agreement, Kerik would avoid three separate federal trials on charges of corruption, tax evasion and lying to federal officials, and serve 27 to 33 months. The Post is happy to note that had Kerik not "brusquely blown off" a similar plea offer in 2007, he'd have served just one year and saved $2 million in legal fees.

I'm just believe he doesn't need to serve jail time think he has more than paid for this crime already.

  • Pete

Fine him, give him probation and SEND HIM HOME!!

Bernie Kerik has already served more jail time that he should.

The man has been dragged through the mud. He has lost all is credibility and honor he once had.

Please do not forget this man is a HERO and NYC should be grateful for his service to our city before and especially during and after 9/11.

Do we need to waste anymore taxpayer money to prosocute him? To have him serve a protected custody jail term?

    NO!

BTW, what did he do on 9/11 that qualifies him, and not the people who risked and lost their lives on the front line, as a hero? He did his freakin job, the one that paid him a very good salary, excellent benefits, got him a book deal, opportunities to cash in private security , access to a donated apartment near Ground Zero where he cheated on his wife and enabled him to sell himself to the mob.

Wait, that's not correct. He sold himself to the mob years before 9/11.

9/11 is not a Get Out Of Jail Free Card.

To suggest it is dishonors the brave firefighters and cops who died that day.

How is this criminal a "HERO"????

The State will save a lot of money if he serves only 3 years. He will will require separation from the general population throughout his stay.

  • Spirit of 76

The state would save even more money if they let him out among the general population. It'd be over a lot sooner than three years.

Bernie's got nothing to worry about since his Mafia associates will see that he's protected.

I hate his moustache and Oakleys. If that doesn't say "creepy dude" I don't know what does.
