This is such great news: the Kellogg company says that Cocoa Krispies builds your immunity! Who needs a flu shot when you can just eat Rice Krispies Treats? And not only can the sugary cereal save your life, but this news could also help bring back the school bake sale.
Not so fast. The downers at USA Today report that the cereal maker is being criticized by those "who object to the swine flu-conscious claim now bannered in bold lettering on the front of Cocoa Krispies cereal boxes," which reads: "Now helps support your child's IMMUNITY." We want to believe.
A nutrition expert at New York University, named Professor Nestle, says she wrote the FDA after seeing the claim in August; she told the paper, "The idea that eating Cocoa Krispies will keep a kid from getting swine flu, or from catching a cold, doesn't make sense." Kellogg's claims "It was not created to capitalize on the current H1N1 flu situation."

Anyone blindingly stupid enough to believe this claim probably already has children that are obese, diabetic, spoiled and learning impaired. In fact, anyone who would buy this cereal for thier children, whether it has this label or not, is an idiot. Im sure once thier child gets sick, theyll file a lawsuit claiming the cereal didnt 'work', and switch back to Oreos cereal.
I get a laugh out of the cereal ads that say "may" reduce cholesterol. That's the same as saying it may "not" reduce cholesterol. PT Barnum strikes again.
