Secretary Clinton Sells Out

2009_11_hilcl.jpg During her unsuccessful presidential campaign last year, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton racked up more than $12 million in debt which she slowly has been paying off. Now the Daily News reports that she has been selling access to her vast donor database: "Clinton's campaign handlers have rented out the names and addresses of her supporters at least 60 times to a range of buyers, including the Democratic Party, pols and advocacy groups," including Senators Schumer and Gillibrand, and her husband's foundation, raising $3.5 million over the last year. The story notes that though the practice of selling donor lists is "not unusual" in Washington, her current boss keeps his own impressive list "under lock and key."

"...wracked up more than $12 million in debt"

It's RACKED. Though I'm sure her conscience is wracked with guilt over selling her list.

Considering she and her husband made over $100 million dollars during the George W Bush administration, there's no justification to sell out her supporters for money.
It's just another reminder why she's not likable.

And how much of this debt was RACKED up after she had already been statistically eliminated from the primaries?

Wait Democrats are all corrupt politicians too?

Oh no, my worldview is shattered.

How is this "corrupt"? Not only is it completely legal, it's also completely routine.

Nearly everything a politician does legally and routinely is corrupt. Same goes for corporations. If you're gonna live outside the law however, you have to be honest. That's how it works today.

Having worked in the field, I don't see why this is at all newsworthy. Almost every campaign will rent out its list; if Obama does not his is a glaring exception. And since his is probably more extensive than anything anyone else has, it probably makes sense for him to keep it for himself.

Don't worry about Hillary. Her friends at AIPAC will happily relieve her of her debt for a few repulsive and morally repugnant favors for the State of Israel. Carry on.

At least she's still a life long Yankee fan. Has anyone seen her at any of the Series games?

Maybe next time she could charge her supporters a premium to not sell their names.
