Rain Doesn't Stop 2009 Halloween Revelers

It may have been raining, but the annual Village Halloween Parade still attracted thousands of costumed marchers and spectators. Check out these photographs from our readers (and thank you for sharing them!).

  • The only day of the year I'm actually afraid of kids... They can look so scary and it feels like you are in the middle of a horror movie when you drive up your driveway to park your car to find three children disguised as witches and vampires looking at you from the street. It is even that dark that you can't really see that they are disguised, they just look that real...

    Great photos btw :D

For some adults, halloween is about creativity. For other adults, it's more of a way to express yourself in a way our society hasn't been able to allow on an everyday basis.

And that's fine. It all collides to create this amazing masquerade holiday in NYC. Not to be confused with the halloween you may have expereinced growing up in the suburbs. This is adult halloween. This is NYC halloween. Lighten up.

I like the scrabble pieces and the dudes who are lit up like "walk/don't walk".

  • Wow great.

Rain also did not prevent a gang of Keyboard Cats from invading a Bloomberg campaign office. Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WGDyUZkWrk
