With Sad Rat and Sad Panda making us all so sad, it's nice to have Happy Manatee around. Ilya was rescued from the cold clutches of New Jersey earlier this week, and flown down to the more manatee-friendly state of Florida yesterday. The NY Post reports that he is expected to make a full recovery, and a rep at the US Fish and Wildlife Service confirms: "He is safely home in Florida, and currently in a nice pool at the Miami Seaquarium."
Vets say he only suffered minor "cold stress complications," and since being rescued the 10-foot-long sea cow is said to have eaten $300 worth of lettuce, which helped him regain his strength. He'll keep residence at the Seaquarium until healthy enough to be released into the waters off southeast Florida.

yeah
Dead Rat, Jen, not Sad Rat. Dead!
Of course the biggest relief for a "sea cow" no longer in New Jersey is not having to worry that they'll be mistaken for regular cows. We know what they do to cows in New Jersey!
Opinion is sharply divided as to whether manatee is better cooked or as sashimi.
I'm not sure being moved to Florida is a better fate for him, considering how many manatees are killed by speedboats down there.
He actually swam up to Jersey to vote for his twin brother Chris Christie.
This is the first time the US Fish and Wildlife Service took one of these calls from NJ...over an animal.
$200 says "NannyState" isn't exactly a looker himself?
I'm willing to take that bet................
