Which Democratic Lawmakers Didn't Vote In Runoff

2009_10_runoff.jpg Besides costing a lot for a record low voter turnout, here's another runoff election fun fact: Quite a few Dem lawmakers and politicians didn't vote! The Daily News reports that among the no-shows (or those who couldn't get their absentee ballot acts together) were State Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada Jr., State Senator Eric Adams and William Scarborough, and Assemblyman Felix Ortiz. The Citizens Union's Dick Dadey said of Espada, "He craves respect as a Senate leader but shows disdain for democracy by not voting."

Well we really can't get on their case if few of us citizens voted outselves, but they should be setting a better example.

"He craves respect as a Senate leader but shows disdain for democracy by being one of the most blatantly corrupt politicians of our time in the course of holding the people of the state hostage as he shook down the legislature in order to gain more power and steal state funds to enrich himself and his family at the expense of the taxpayers."

Fixed it for you.

Espada didn't vote? WHY I AM SHO...oh wait, par for the course. Did he actively obstruct other people's ability to vote?

Why would Espada vote? That would imply he believes in democracy, which he clearly does not.

How is that piece of shit Espada still in office? And why haven't we seceded from the rest of the state yet?

Sleepy is right on; I'm saying, NYC demands statehood! Seriously, Wyoming has 500k people in it, total. Heck, we'd be the 12th most populous state!

Why should the crook Espada vote in a New York City election? He lives in Westchester...
