Sad Panda: Still Here, Needs Photoshopping

A reader sent in the photo on the left earlier today, letting us know that Sad Panda is "at his usual spot Downtown." It's nice to see he hasn't totally sold out to the Spongebob Squarepants corporate machine. However, it's going to get cold soon, and we know that Sad Panda suffers from Seasonal Affected Disorder and loves to take vacations, so where do you think he'll go? By the way, is anyone going as "Sad Panda" for Halloween?

Pretty sure Sad Panda is a young Chinese female. I took some pictures one day, and it looks like an Asian inside. The bigger proof though is her bag was a Chinese version of Doraemon (多拉A梦) and was filled with your stereotypical Asian female things (i.e. Hello Kitty， etc).

Maybe this one is just a new one playing off the fame of the old one then - after all, this one doesn't seem as sad as the original. I'm quite sure it's an Asian female, and would be willing to bet Chinese. I've never seen 多拉A梦-anything outside of China.

Nope. He's male. I've been documenting Sad Panda for a long time and it's always been the same guy. But then, maybe he has a female understudy for sick days.
