Last Night's Action: Game 1 To Philly

Philadelphia 6 Yankees 1: The Yankees looked like a team totally overwhelmed by circumstances while Cliff Lee looked like Orel Hershiser in 1988. CC Sabathia was good, allowing only two runs, both solo shots to Chase Utley, but Lee was much better. He dominated the Yankees, going the distance and he probably would have had a shutout if Jimmy Rollins hadn’t airmailed a throw in the ninth. The Yankees bullpen imploded in the 8th and 9th with Phil Hughes and Brian Bruney the chief culprits. New York will have to hope for a better result against Pedro Martinez in Game 2.
Islanders 3 Rangers 1: The Isles earned their second win of the season by beating the Rangers convincingly at home Wednesday. The Rangers were lacking Marian Gaborik, but the way that played, it really didn’t matter. They were sloppy with the puck and let up a goal just 55 seconds into the game to Matt Moulson. John Tavares added a goal in the third and Dwayne Rolson made 34 saves to earn the win.
Miami 115 Knicks 93: Get used to this Knicks’ fans. They didn’t play defense, allowing the Heat to shoot 57% from the field. On the positive side, Danilo Gallinari scored 22, going 7-13 from the three-point line.

to say the Rangers were sloppy with the puck isnt' entirely accurate. They hit the post 3 times during the game. Truth be told, the Islanders just played a better game than the Rangers last night. Let's not spin it as it was the Rangers loss, but rather that the Islanders won. They earned it last night wtih all the young kids scoring.

Anyone else see the fan throw the bird when Utley's second homer landed in the bleachers? He was on camera for a moment, but I think he was edited out of the replays!
