Governor Paterson Declares Swine Flu "State Of Emergency"

2009_10_swineflugm.jpg Governor Paterson has declared a state of emergency over swine flu. The AP reports, "The executive order means that far more health care professionals -- including dentists -- will be permitted to administer vaccines with only brief training. The order is needed to suspend provisions of state law.State officials say the number of vaccine doses is also being increased. The federal government is ramping up availability of the vaccine, allowing the state to order twice as many doses as a week ago, a trend that's expected to continue." President Obama declared swine flu a "national emergency" a few days ago.

Gov. Paterson has declared a state emergency to deal with the swine flu?? Are you KIDDING?!

The declaration allows health care professionals including pharmacists, dentists and midwives to administer vaccinations for the H1N1 virus so long as they receive proper training.

Paterson spokesman Morgan Hook said the governor signed the declaration Wednesday at the request of local health officials. It states that the swine flu has caused at least 75 deaths but “the true magnitude of cases may be as much as 10 percent of the population or more in some areas.”

***BRAIN EXERCISE: The Census Bureau's 2008 population estimate of New York State was 19,490,297. New York City alone as of the 2006 Census was 8,214,426 people. 10% of New York City’s population alone would be roughly 821,400 people. Again, that’s over 821 THOUSAND! 10%??? What exactly are they smoking? So, where are they putting roughly 821 THOUSAND DEAD BODIES?! Seriously! -- HAS NO ONE IN THE MEDIA EVEN THOUGHT TO RUN THE NUMBERS?????!!!!!! COME ONE PEOPLE! WAKE UP FOR GOD'S SAKE!

When are we going to wake up as a country and revolt against the tyranny that is running us into the ground?! The INSANITY is just too much to bare any more!

I fail to see how this helps anything when there simply are not enough doses in existence.

I saw a graphic on USA Today yesterday, which actually noted that the NY area had one of the lowest cases in the country. http://specials.usatoday.com/h1n1+flu/ In this graphic, I believe New York is region 2. Is this an election ploy by Paterson?

The real questions is, why are you reading USA Today??? I thought that paper was only for reading material while in the hotel bathroom, uh, taking care of business.
