From Homeless to Broadway!

102709terri.jpg Last year around this time, 61-year-old Tony Award nominee Terri White was sleeping on a bench in Washington Square Park, after being evicted from her apartment of 14 years. Now the stage veteran is back on Broadway in the new revival of Finian’s Rainbow. It's quite an uplifting story, and if you're one of those people who uniformly distrusts police, you may be interested to know that it was an NYPD beat cop who helped save White from the gutter.

Good cop! Thank goodness for them.

Do you people not copy edit? You need to delete the "who" in the last sentence.

We have made peace here. Editing is frivolous and unnecessary, please do not bring it up again.

It's easier to become homeless than you might imagine.

I must say that's an impressive looking couple - having lived in the city for over 30 years I do not recall ever seeing a black/white lesbian coupling...

Come on Fredd- wake up- there are gay couples of every stripe, you probably thought two women of different colors were just co-workers or shopping buddies...

BTW- great for this woman to rise again! Bravo!

I haven't read the article yet. But I have to say, Ms. White is one of my favorite performers in NYC--I watched her for years at Rose's Turn (before it turned into a Real Estate office).

Go see her. She's amazing, and she's one of the kindest people you'll ever meet.
