Great Weather for Baseball

Today would be a great day for a World Series game. Sunny with seasonable temperatures topping out in the low 60s thanks to a high pressure system. Tomorrow's temperatures will remain seasonable but it will be mostly cloudy and light rain is expected later in the day. Not great baseball weather but the Yankees and Phillies would definitely get the game in if the series started tomorrow.

That brings us to Wednesday when the World Series is scheduled to start. A storm brewing along the Gulf Coast is expected to scoot across the southeast and up the East Coast on Wednesday. As of now it appears that the heaviest rainfall will stay east of the city, but it will still be a raw, rainy and cool day with a high only in the mid 50s. Don't be surprised if there's a long rain delay in Wednesday's game.

The Weather Service forecast for Thursday makes no sense in light of their discussion (Caution: Weather nerd talk if you follow that link). Northeast winds following the mid-week storm should bring a mostly cloudy, cool day with a chance of drizzle. The NWS is going with a sunny and warm Thursday. Weird. Friday, however, is looking to be sunny and warm.
