A new Quinnipiac poll shows that Mayor Bloomberg is leading the mayoral race, with 53% of likely voters picking him, while challenger Comptroller Bill Thompson gets 35% of likely voters. PolitickerNY reports, "A two-term incumbent just barely over 50 percent would normally have lots to worry about, if he were being challenged by someone who had convinced the public there was an electable alternative. Thompson, unable to crack 40 percent in public opinion polls, does not seem to have made that case effectively." Now the word "blowout" is being mentioned.

These polls try to brainwash voters. They continually pepper you with information stating that Bloomberg is crushing Thomson. Those who may favor Thomson may just say, "well fuck it, he isn't going to win anyways..."
Or with luck, Bloomberg supporters will think they're coasting to a win and don't need to show up at the voting booth.
what is your point? Do you know that your are supporting someone who has no regard for the people and intentionally ran the clock to extend his term? Do some independent research and educate yourself. Dictators like Bloomberg thrive on the ignorance and apathy of the voters.
I've received two calls from quinnipiac in the past three days.
don't believe the hype. How many of us have land lines? I only have a cell phone, and never got any calls from pollsters. I'm voting Thompson, and I bet many other people will too.

I bet a lot of people will vote for Thompson.. somewhere around 35% is my guess.
This poll had about 1,000 responses. There are somewhere around 2.5 million registered voters. Therefore, getting called for one of these polls is an extremely unlikely event, even if you had a land line.
These polls are irrelevant.
This is what happens when the Democratic Party sits back and says, "Who wants to run for mayor? Anyone? Okay, fine, you in the back, go ahead." They should have been out there courting qualified candidates, trying to convince them to run.
There is literally only one Democrat who could have beaten Bloomberg, and his name is Bill Clinton.

WHY DID NOT ONE MEDIA OUTLET think it was worth reporting that BLOOMBAG GAVE QUINNIPIAC over $5 million? He also gave MARIST over $5 million, and ditto the other polling companies. (Can anyone guess why?)

when I was on the Democrat ballot in 2005 (and was polling at 100% when you asked real people on the street) (i could've won the election JUST on my comprehensive Free Subways plan!) Jason Trachtenburg got a call from these criminal "polling" companies asking who he was voting for.
He said "CXB" and they told him he couldn't give that answer. They tried to force him to choose tween Ferrer and Bloombag! He refused and his "vote" was never counted.
it's 2009. If you believe polls you are beyond help.
Even worse, when I got 4% of the vote (after not campaigning, etc, and spending only $120 on flyers) to Gifford Miller's 10% (after spending $6 million; having a huge staff; union endorsements; endless press coverage; and being the second most powerful pol in NYC) THIS ALONE PROVED thousands of people CHEATED THE ELECTIONS and broke many federal laws. (I had to be allowed in all the debates and TV debates. They let Ognibene and Shaw in and they polled at 1%!)
And you people will NEVER stand up to the criminals who stole trillions from you.
