The Cute: Kidrockers Had the Best CMJ Ever
Yesterday the underaged set got treated to two of the more talked about bands during CMJ: Neon Indian and Real Estate. With their parents or other adults in tow (our 2 1/2 year old niece chaperoned us), the youngsters got to rock out, shake their noisemakers and dance on Twister mats at the afternoon Kidrockers show, held at the Living Room. The bands were probably exhausted from 5 consecutive days of performing, and more than likely a few members were still nursing hangovers, but you would never know it. They showed up on time, joked around with the kids, and even invited them all on stage to be a part of the show.

Hey i was at that show...
I'm not saying that the Brooklyn Bowl show was the coolest thing ever, or the fact that most people try not to party into the night on a Thursday night...it wasn't as bad a night as the reviewer suggests...Here are some mitigating points:
1. this is Williamsburg and, for all intents and purposes, charges a minimum to Manhattan prices (it wasn't $9 beer night, just $6.50...)
2. It's a new venue that has a pretty extensive beer list
3. YACHT was pretty great and all the people who waited were given a pretty exciting show
I think the Brooklyn Bowl was the showcase moreso than the bands...at a music festival no less...go figure...
I've tried to see YACHT 3 times and every single time they played 3+ hours later than advertised. What the fuck?
The Protomen Saturday night at the Webster Hall Studio were AMAZING.
No no look it's spelled YACHT but it's actually pronounced THROATWARBLER MANGROVE.
If the bands at the Living Room used amplifiers, I hope the kiddies had hearing protection. I don't see any in Olivia's right ear.
