New York Gets First Taste Of Canned Zen

2009_10_gaba.jpg Pedestrian Safety Warning: Watch out for laid-back dudes struggling to keep a hold on their cans of ‘relaxing’ soft drinks while steering a segway around Manhattan’s streets. Since New York seems to be the hottest place to launch a beverage brainchild these days, the guys over at Jones Soda Co. are bringing Jones GABA, tea-juice blend containing the amino acid GABA to the city via Segways.

Supposedly, this stuff helps increase production of calming alpha brain waves and decrease beta brain waves. “Translation? Higher scores, bigger and better tricks, and an overall Zen state of mind.”

So, in other words it’s like pot in a can?

Aren't segways basically banned in the city?

Not just the city, but all of NY State (technically speaking).

I don't know about NYC or NYS, but in Philadelphia they rent them to the tourists.

GABA is not really an amino acid, it doesn't quite fit as a protein either. furthermore, i don't believe that it's been demonstrated to pass through the blood-brain barrier so what you got here is a whole lot of gimmick. enjoy suckers.
