PATH Train Hits Wall At Herald Square, At Least 10 Injured

2009_10_path.jpg A PATH train entering the Herald Square station apparently hit a wall (or bumper). We are hearing that 10 people were injured—8 passengers and 2 PATH employees. Initially, it was reported that there were no delays but now 1010WINS says, " Commuters should expect PATH service delays." Update 8:57 a.m.: NotifyNYC says, "West 33rd Street between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue is closed to traffic because of emergency vehicle activity." Update 9:56 a.m.: Now MyFoxNY is reporting there were 13 injures, all minor and got amateur video of the response—see it after the jump.

craziness outside my office window

As this will delay the commute for people from New Jersey , this may work to our advantage.

Give it a rest. I love it when people move from the midwest to NYC and start with the jersey jokes.
How about an original thought for once?
Anyone that grew up around here knows that North Jersey, Southern Westchester and Western Long Island are all part of the NY region and are more NYers than these transplants that hop off a plane from the midwest and live in a studio in Murry Hill.
Give it a rest tourist.

give the murray hill jokes a rest.

:P

I love the way that every person "from new york" responds like this. You are probably from the midwest too.

lol a studio in Murray Hill. So you wrongly accuse me of being a transplant, chastise me for bashing NJ (A tradition for people, everywhere), and bash people living in Murray Hill at the same time.

Perfect. You must be running dangerously low on Axe body spray & hair grease.

Where do I bash Murray Hill? I also see that you don't argue that you are a transplant making Jersey jokes. Attempt at rebuttal FAIL!!! Give the Jersey Jokes a rest Lemming.

And for the record. I'm from Yonkers, went to highschool in the Bronx, lived in the East Village for 10 years and now I live in Jersey City.

No I'm a New Yorker, Born and raised making Jersey Jokes, but even if I was a 'transplant' as you call them, that wouldn't really matter as making fun of NJ is a national pastime. Like Baseball & Apple Pie.

I shall continue to crack snarky jokes, and you will have to sit there and deal with it.

Jersey jokes are always acceptable. Knowledge of lifetime New Yorker rights & responsibilities fail.

Meh. Just because Jersey jokes are acceptable doesn't make them funny.

Definitely, but attempts shouldn't be discouraged. I found this particular one chuckleworthy.

New Yorkers attempting to gain a false sense of superiority through bland & tired jokes is also 'chuckleworthy'.

Yes, that's exactly what's happening here. We use the internet to boost our esteem, not make jokes.

i can't wait to see the law & order episode about this.

Looks like one of their shiny new trains. Maybe they forgot to install brakes on that one.
