A dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta do—and if that means breaking out of a veterinary clinic after undergoing surgery, so be it! Pharaoh, a 9-year-old German Shepherd, managed to get out of his cage at a Hauppauge, Long Island clinic, and then, Newsday reports, "opened the back door"—which had a deadbolt—"unlatched a gate and fled." Here's video of Pharaoh, wearing his surgical cone, working the door:
WABC 7 reports that on the outside, Pharaoh "was confronted by a giant fence. It stands more than six feet tall. So he jumped up and with his front paws he pushed down on a lever, opened the door and away he went." He was discovered in a Smithtown park, by a passerby who noticed he was still in his surgical collar. The 75-pound dog is doing well and is recovering back at home.

Pharoah "pushed down on a lever" end walked through a door in the fence? Please; if that dog had any sense of style he would have stolen a motorcycle and jumped the fence.

All dogs know the way out of the vet's office. He was ready to go home!
