The Post reports that a 28-year-old Upper East Side resident was arrested after a "looting spree, scaling fire escapes and slinking into windows to rip off TVs, cameras, iPods and other electronics from a string of buildings -- including her own." However it's unclear if she was wearing sneakers for sneaking.
Celeste Ricciardi is suspected of stealing from four neighbors at her East 73rd Street building and a number of robberies at three other buildings. She was finally caught when a East 82nd Street building super saw her standing on a fire escape—"Ricciardi claimed she was about to walk the tenants' dog." (Ah, the ol' "I'm walking the dog" excuse.) "Ricciardi climbed down and started walking away, but the super followed and called 911."
Ricciardi—who owns two cats—was arrested; she also allegedly had heroin on her. She was released on $30,000 bail.

...and she hid all the loot under a giant "T".
this sounds like a great plot for an adult film. *cue funky bass line*
Uh-oh. Carrie Bradshaw, watch out!
I think you mean 'burglary' as 'robbery' implies the victim was present when the crime took place.
I thought everyone had gates on their fire escape windows?
This is the second story of people breaking into apartments via fire escape windows in like 2 weeks.
