Oh you Bushwickians and your tent cities. The latest in neighborhood tent news comes by way of a Craigslist posting, written by some younger folk who possibly have Where the Wild Things Are fort envy:

"We are artists living in a loft in Bushwick at the moment we have 4 guys & 2 girls. we have pitched tents in the loft. We have a lease & there is heat in our space & bathrooms in the hall. It is a cool building full of working artists. There are no showers, we use the city gym on Bedford ave which cost only $70 for the year. We are planning on making a documentary of our indoor tent city. We have space for 2 more females, to balance out the vibe. you must be clean, creative & drama free. we also have 2 cats."

Drama free? This is going to be the most boring documentary ever. [via Curbed, who is pretty sure this is for an amateur porn shoot]

people like this disgust me. I hate kids who think its cool to be poor and/or homeless. if you have a lease for the place then you must be paying something and if you are paying to live like a squatter you are an idiot. squat somewhere for real and at least be working toward owning it. I hae actually been homeless and its nothingcute for the cameras. just get a life.

Sigh. Why do so many people under the age of 30 think anyone gives a shit about their lives? A documentary about your tent. In a loft. The narcissism is out of control.

  • HOTCUP

    amen.

  • milt17

Sounds like fun however, I hope these ppl aren't like the Manson Family. That would freak everyone out in Bedford Ave.

  • NannyState

Hmmm, I think I saw one of them hawking sand candles off Bedford just the other day...

  • 99centmenu

I don't hate all of them, just a small subset of them. these fuckers, or example.

  • kcin122

well if you hate a group of people its hard for them to do something that makes you not hate them.

    Just ask the KKK.

  • 99centmenu

can I pose a serious question? why are some hipsters dead-bent on making it impossible not to hate them? a fucking documentary, really?

  • bklynbagel

documentary or hot-hipster porn.. i hope for the latter

  • kcin122

living in Bushwick gives you more street cred within the hipster community.

  • mocanlagunas

    female and drama-free?!?

  • Wza

    Wow!

I must say, I'm surprised. Surprised they call the area Bushwick and not East Williamsburg.

  • brandonz

    Really?

Fun fact, East Williamsburg actually exists. That area between approximately Humboldt and Flushing or so. Everyone seems to think it is Bushwick, because people like you think "East Williamsburg" was a fake neighborhood name invented by realtors. You read too many blogs.

  • Nick

    Actually it's called West Bushwick
