  • From the Gothamist Newsmap: A fatal all hands fire on West 141 Street, a crime scene on Schenck Ave in Brooklyn and a serious MVA at Astoria Blvd S & Steinway St in Queens.
  • A Staten Island teenager was arrested for allegedly stabbing her 14-year-old brother with a steak knife.
  • Cute: Senior citizens sing their hearts out in the Bronx at a talent show. Their teacher said, "People say they’re too old to learn, but you learn until you die. And then you learn to die."
  • Another day, another Atlantic Yards lawsuit.
  • A Long Island woman is accused of killing a pedestrian while allegedly drunk driving. The woman's mother claims she was driving home a friend who had too many drinks.
  • An investment manager tries to argue for why the government shouldn't be meddling in executive pay: "If a trader makes their firm $1 billion profit by being long on Treasuries and gold futures -- making investors very happy, and wealthy, by the way -- then why shouldn't they be compensated accordingly?"
  • Finally! Sarah Palin has apparently posted her resume on LinkedIn.
  • Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi looks pretty awesome while pregnant.

    LESS IS MORE

    Eating less a sacrifice?

    Not by any means;

    Life's extended and healthified

By sticking to beans and greens.

    First to benefit from this

    Is the hedonist

    Looking for a Faustian deal

    To head his pleasure list.

Gluttony's one of the seven sins,

    The one he gladly kicks--

    Longevity provides him more

    Years for the other six!

If by "pretty awesome while pregnant" you mean "nipple explosions", then I agree.

  • She's glowing! And the nipple thing is very normal for pregnant ladies.

(BTW, I didn't realize you were expecting until the whiskey tasting photos. Congrats! And please don't become one of those moms - aka Meme Roth.)

I can relate. When I was 17 and my brother was 14 I was often tempted to attack the little fucker. I never actually, you know, STABBED him though.
