Surprise! Neighbors Don't Like Madonna

101709madonnaushanka.jpg Somehow we don't think a broom handle to the ceiling is going to fix this one. One of Madonna's Upper West Side neighbors filed a lawsuit yesterday, charging her of subjecting the building to "pounding noise and vibration" when she uses her apartment as a dance studio.

Karen George lives above Madonna on Central Park West, and has filed the suit because the building's management has "curiously" ceased efforts to follow up on an attempt to silence the star, reports the Daily News.

However, this is the same building management who tried to keep Madonna from purchasing a third unit in the building in 2007, a battle that she won. The Post reports the Material Girl has been threatened with eviction, but seem to be making few moves to hold up that promise. Either way, Madonna seems to be moving on up to a de-luxe apartment on the Upper East Side soon, so she can practice her dance moves in front of one of her nine fireplaces.

I'm sure her brother who wrote the fantastic book ;-)

I don't understand why someone that wealthy doesn't have her own building.

Seriously. Why doesn't she buy one of those massive entire floor apartments I see advertised in the NY Times magazine every weekend. If anyone has that kind of scratch, she does.

she does not appear to have enough imagination to figure that out

or maybe she does this on purpose because she can read about herself in the paper

I think both

Or rent a dance rehearsal space.

It seem obvious, doesn't it? Why would anyone think it's ok to use a residential apartment as a dance or music studio? It shouldn't surprise anyone that it would disturb the neighbors.

It's easier to whip up the drama-of-the-month when you have neighbors to piss off.

madonna needs to realize the potential and pragmatism of living on the parlor floor.

I'm surprised by this actually. I thought people liked Madonna.

Oh these people need to chill. Madge is moving to her new digs just as soon as the renovation work is finished. Jeez, how can she be expected to perform so flawlessly without practice?

People just desperately want things to complain about. If you didn't want Madonna in the building then the co-op board should have denied her application, that's the point of a co-op.

"Pounding noise and vibration"? What led the neighbors to think there was dancing upstairs?
