Racist Construction Firms Pay Whites Most, Latinos Least

Constructionworker.jpg Six New York construction companies illegally paid white workers more than minorities who had the same jobs, a state lawsuit alleges. White workers earned an average of $25 per hour, while blacks netted $18 per hour and Latinos took home only $15 per hour, according to the suit filed by Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. Since 2002, pay discrepancies at at least ten different construction sites scammed minorities out of $4 million in wages and overtime.

All of the firms implicated in the lawsuit are run by Michael Mahoney, a contractor who the Daily News accused last year of issuing black market crane-safety permits to untrained construction workers in the aftermath of two fatal crane collapses .

whites and black need higher pay as they are more wasteful with money

How is this even a real lawsuit? Lumping "construction workers" together as minority groups without taking into account the various skill levels built into the construction industry is kind of ridiculous.

Trust me- your average white construction worker tends to be a racist bastard, but they also tend to be pretty equitable regarding skill levels. If a guy is a skilled worker, they usually get paid accordingly.

I thought Obama ushered in the post-racial era?

At least blacks can't say that they're always at the bottom of the ladder.

Perhaps they were using the 3/5 person rule.

Tax-payers should always be paid more than illegal aliens who don't pay taxes.

YOU RACIST SONOFA...ohhh wait, that is a good point.

My question would be: Is there a reason the whites got paid more? In other words, unions were mostly white-dominated for decades, so perhaps white workers have more seniority (and therefore more pay)? If so, the unions' resistance to adding minority workers decades ago is coming home to roost, no?

    Either way, it stinks.

    Nah, that couldn't be it.

    It must be racism.
