Hollywood Helicopters Fly Above Manhattan Today

2copter1009.jpg No one panic! The helicopters Hollywood sent in last week are back in the Manhattan airspace today. ABC alerts that "between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., there will be movie filming in New York City. As a result, there will be low-flying helicopters over Manhattan. The helicopters will be in the vicinity of the Empire State building, Chrysler Building and Central Park by the reservoir." UPDATE: The copters today are for a commercial. That's one big budget commercial!

today i saw a bus top ad that said
"attention hollywood producers...
go film your crime scenes somewhere else!
nyc crime rates are at a 40 year low"

which sounds snazzy for a bloomber election ad,
but the reality is bloomberg's nyc film dept or whatever its called proudly licks Hollywood & TV butt holes to allow filming in nyc no matter how much it inconveniences native new yorkers.

doesnt the city get cash monies for allowing these socal fruits to get in everybody's way?

Those Hollywood buttholes keep people employed, most people would see that as a good thing.

Bloomberg allows Hollywood buttholes to film in residential neighborhoods, move residents cars with little or no warning, then said locals pay big bucks for parking tickets and tow pounds. Rebuild your "NYC lot" at Universal and leave us alone.

"allowing these socal fruits to get in everybody's way
While it's probably not true of most of the actors and directors, the majority of the crew on any movie shoot in NYC is made up of people who live in NYC.

I'm guessing that a couple of my friends are working on this one. They're doing some action movie that's been shooting car chases and crashes (involving a bus as well) at a couple of locations downtown early in the morning the last few days; I think they were supposed be be somewhere around 23rd and Park or Madison this morning. Seems likely that if there's a helicopter scene it'd be the same film.
