Claire Danes Pretty Much Hates Brooklyn

Although Angela Chase would have loved it, it's not like Claire Danes ever seemed like much of an outer-borough girl — and NY Mag recently discovered just how Manhattan she really is. The actress told them, “I do love walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, I have to say." But after thinking about it realized she's never gotten much further than DUMBO. Her husband defended her, saying, "You’re speaking to the most politely pro-Manhattanite person that you’ve ever met, right here." They then referred to Prospect Park as "a big patch of grass somewhere there."

REALITY CHECK

To be fair, if you live, work and hang out in one particular borough, it's perfectly normal to stay mostly in that borough. I have friends who live, work and play in Queens and very rarely leave. I know more than a few Brooklynites who do the same. I know a 50-year-old guy born and raised in Hell's Kitchen, and he told me he's been to Brooklyn only about ten times.
