  • From the Gothamist Newsmap: A sexual assault on Plains Rd & Soundview Av in the Bronx, a robbery at W97 St & Central Park in Manhattan and an overturned auto on the Williamsburg Bridge.
  • A $75 million project to put various emergency responders—such as the NYPD, FDNY and Coast Guard—in touch with each other just by pushing one button (versus carrying around three different radios) has been completed.
  • The Post reports on a "growing fear that Gov. Paterson is manipulating the bidding process for the long-delayed, multibillion-dollar contract for a massive video-lottery casino at the Aqueduct Race Track."
  • Wall Street titan Lionel Pincus died yesterday, but it's unclear how much grieving there will be since the real drama is the fight between his sons and his girlfriend over a spectacular Pierre Hotel penthouse.
  • Jersey City weirdness: An off-duty cop's attempt to stop a public urinator somehow led to a woman getting attacked by another woman wielding a samurai sword.
  • Outtake photographs of Sarah Palin—they were for her Goin' Rogue memoir.
  • Arthur Avenue—the Italian enclave in the Bronx—is feeling the recession's hit.
  • It's that time again: The Rockefeller Center skating rink is officially open.
